Marilyn M Gordon

Marilyn Gordon, born Marilyn Martha Neustedt, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2024 after struggling to recover from a fractured hip and subsequent surgery.

Marilyn was born in Cleveland Ohio on April 19th, 1941, daughter of Herman and Ellen Neustedt. She spent her formative years in Richmond Heights, Ohio surrounded by a loving family that also included a sister (Jeanette Zanghi) and brother Kenneth Neustedt (both deceased), as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins with whom she enjoyed many warm and memorable times.

After graduating high school, Marilyn moved to New York City and became a flight attendant with United Airlines, which she enjoyed immensely. During this time she met and later married her first husband Otto Kratzenberg Jr., with whom she spent 18 years and had two children Debra and Eric Kratzenberg. She also furthered her education, and became a School Psychologist.

Marilyn loved to play the piano, and ski! During the mid 1980s, she moved to the Hartford, CT area and joined the Mt Laurel Skiers, with whom she spent many great years, and acquired close friends. She also met her second husband, Norman Gordon, in the club.

Norm and Marilyn were married 1997, and spent 25 years together enjoying many adventures that included skiing, attending the opera, biking, hiking, orienteering, entertaining and also extensive travel all over the world. Norm sadly died in May 2022, leaving two sons, Mitch and Doug Gordon, who Marilyn adored.

In June 2022, Marilyn moved to the wonderful Scott-Farrar Memory Care Facility (The Gardens) in Peterborough NH to be closer to her children and grandaughters Ursula, Margot, and Audra Kratzenberg. She was very well-cared for by the loving staff at Scott-Farrar.

Marilyn will be sadly missed!
