Marilyn "Mac" McKenna died unexpectedly February 20th at her apartment in Hanover, NH. Born in Lynn, MA, daughter of Fred L. Foster and Gladys W. Foster in 1921. She attended private schools and graduated from Lynn English High School in 1937.She held many positions in northeastern Massachusetts prior to accepting a "short term" appointment with the U.S. Census Bureau. She retired from that agency twenty-two years later. She was a highly visible volunteer at Kendal at Hanover. Her volunteerism in a wide range of community and civic organizations throughout her life exemplified her strong belief that one voice can and will make a difference. She was predeceased by her husbands, Frank G. Soule and John F. McKenna, her oldest son, Linwood G. Soule and a sister, Beverly F. Billings. She is survived by a sister, Jean F. Greeley of Marblehead, MA, a son, Foster L.G. Soule of Marblehead, MA and three daughters, Judith N. Soule of Freeport, ME, Martha Soule Hayden of Barrington, RI and Sara McKenna Petersohn of Mossyrock, WA., as well as six granddaughters and a grandson. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 1st at 11:00 Am at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lynn and on Saturday March 8th at 11:00 AM at Kendal at Hanover, 80 Lyme Road in Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greater Lynn, 101 Forest Avenue, Swampscott, MA 01907 or to the American Cancer Society.
