Marjorie L. (Erickson) Humphrey, 92, died on August 10, 2015 at her residence of Harris Hill Center in Concord, New Hampshire.
Marjorie was born May 20, 1923 in Middleboro, Massachusetts to Doris (Wood) and Charles Erickson (both deceased). She was an English major and substitute teacher, attended secretarial school, and learned interior decorating. Marjorie believed in life-long learning, attending several classes at Colby College during her 30 years living in Rome and Waterville, Maine and practically lived at every local library soaking in knowledge as an avid reader of all books and keeping current with world news.
Living in New England all her life, Marjorie loved most the ocean and Belgrade Lakes. She also enjoyed gardening, antiquing, crafts, music, attending the Common Ground Fair, and making the staff at Harris Hill laugh. Her favorite travel experience was a month in Africa. She was a member of the Women's Circle of the Episcopal church in Waterville, ME and a longtime member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Framingham, MA. Before retirement, Marjorie worked at Regal Wallpaper & Carriage House Interior Design.
Predeceased by Ward F. Humphrey, her husband of 14 fabulous years, and her son Richard Abelli, Marjorie is survived by her daughters Lois Reimer of Indian Rocks Beach FL, Laurie Bridges and her husband Rob of Hillsboro NC, Donna Abelli of Easton MA, and Carolyn Robbins and her husband Glenn of Deerfield NH, as well as her stepson Wayne Humphrey of Maynard, MA. She was blessed with fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great-children. Marjorie is predeceased by her lovely sister Lois Belloli, and has two stepbrothers Danny and David Sprague as well as many nieces and nephews.
Gathering of friends and family will commence at 1:00pm Thursday, August 13, 2015 with a Celebration of Life service at 2:00pm at the Phaneuf Funeral Home & Crematorium located at 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH.
