Marjorie Eileen Swanson

Marjorie E. Swanson, 82 of Derry, NH passed away peacefully, on September 20, 2024. 

She was born on 6/4/1942 in Marblehead, MA, daughter of the later Walter H. Dennis and Bernice (Foster) Dennis. She was the 2nd last child of five. 

Her early years were spent at the family farm in West Newbury. She graduated from West Newbury High 1960. Among her high school possessions was a poem she wrote and kept through the years about the West Newbury Town Meeting Day. 

Marje moved to Boston married a Coastie, the late Michael A Swanson, together they had two sons. They lived in Denver Colorado, Boston suburbs, Haverhill MA and finally settled in Derry NH. 

She worked Office jobs and Medical records at the Elliot Hospital before settling in as the Town Clerk in Derry NH. Her high school paper mentioned above may have been a future predictor. 

Marje loved family, knitting about anything you can think up, gardening, bowling, golf and birds. 

Surviving family members include her children Scott Swanson and wife Karen of Collierville Tennessee, Jeff Swanson wife Rosanne of Chester NH; lone sibling, Allan Dennis of Haverhill, MA; grandchildren Jennifer, Tabitha, Michael, Kendra, Ryan and Owen; also several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by her siblings, Robert H, Dennis, Miriam Walker and Carole L. Frisbee. 

 

A memorial gathering will be held at Cremation Society of New Hampshire (Phaneuf Funeral Home and Crematorium) on Friday, 9/27/24 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The address of the location is 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. 03104.
