Mark David Gagnon

Mark David Gagnon, 57, passed away in his home on January 14, 2022. He was born in Manchester, NH on July 6, 1964.

Mark was a graduate of Manchester Central High School, Class of 1982. He was a professional bass player with a number of notable local bands over the span of his music career (Branches, Shockwave, Clownshoe, and Jimmy’s Down). Music and the stage were his being. When he wasn’t booked with his band(s), he was frequently asked to sit in as a guest bassist for other acts. He would never turn down the opportunity to play and his limitless catalogue of songs along with his ability to adapt allowed him to seamlessly complement any band. His presence and showmanship were second to none and his kind demeanor and innocent nature coupled with an unbeatable and ever-present smile, worked its way into the hearts of everyone he came in contact with.

Upon retirement from entertaining, Mark focused on family and was an avid bass fisherman. His quick wit and spontaneity made him a great source of humor and laughter. There are no words for the emptiness his absence creates, but our faith allows us to keep his light eternally in our hearts.

Mark is pre-deceased by his parents, Norman H. and Elizabeth M. (Trask) Gagnon, and older brother, Kenneth David Foster. He is survived by his daughter, Ashtyn Lyric, and son, Marcus Gagnon; brothers, Norman J. Gagnon Sr. and Richard P. Gagnon; several nieces, nephews, grand-nephews, and literally countless friends and fans whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of Mark’s life will be held on Saturday, January 22 from 5-7pm at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester.
