Mark Andrew Wallace, 59, died peacefully at Alice Peck Day Hospital, Lebanon, NH, on May 22, 2023 after a brave fight with cancer. He was surrounded by his siblings and friends.
Mark was born on July 25, 1963 in Hanover, NH, to John Eric Wallace and Elizabeth (Betty Haskins) Wallace. He resided in the Upper Valley for most of his life and attended the Canaan, NH schools. After high school, he joined the US Marines for 1.5 years. While on duty in the Marines, he discovered the small island of Vieques, Puerto Rico, which became one of his favorite places to live and visit - the other being his property located on Glass Hill in Grafton, NH.
Mark was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed living off the grid, where he liked to hike, fish, snowmobile, kayak, go back road riding, go antiquing and enjoy watching nature. He was also interested in, and knowledgeable about, the histories of both Canaan and Grafton, NH. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed hanging out with his childhood buddies.
He is predeceased by both of his parents. He is survived by his siblings: Melanie Wallace of Manchester, NH, James Wallace of Canaan, NH and Vicky Marlar of Canaan, NH; 3 nephews and one niece.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service. A small gathering for close family and friends will take place at a later date.
