Marsha MacNeil

Hampton, NH  -  Marsha Ellen (McAuliffe) MacNeil 74, died Sunday, October 22, 2023, at High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill, MA.

Marsha was born in Portsmouth, NH, daughter of Annie (Butterfield) and John R. McAuliffe. She graduated from Mass General Hospital (MGH) nursing school in 1969 and worked as a pediatric & NICU nurse at MGH and Stanford University (she loved that work). Marsha also loved music and sang in the Santa Barbara (CA) Oratorio with the Santa Barbara Symphony and the Chattanooga Symphony. She also enjoyed travelling, cooking (gourmet) and sharing so many wonderful times with her husband and best friend Harry E. MacNeil, III. Marsha and her husband were on the board of the Santa Barbara Oratorio Corale and had multiple charity interests, including being the Director of Volunteers for the Santa Barbara Council of Christmas Cheer (a children’s charity).

Marsha is survived by her husband, Harry MacNeil, III of Hampton, NH; sister, Joan Chagnon and her husband Brit of Londonderry, NH; brother, John T. McAuliffe and his wife Elaine of Alton, NH; six nieces and nephews, Miles, Marc, Lauren & Jake part of the Chagnon family and John R. & Kyle of the McAuliffe family; and seven grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John R. & Annie McAuliffe.

Marsha will be cremated with her ashes spread in the Atlantic Ocean near the Isle of Sholes (NH), In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the March of Dimes or the Wounded Warrior Project.
