Martha "Joyce" (Punty) Redman, 82, of Goffstown, NH passed away on April 13, 2023, at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, peacefully and with her family nearby. She was born on January 26, 1941 in Stow, Ma to Mary Jane (Price) and Charles Punty. She attended Hale High School in Stow, graduated from Chamberlyn Junior College and then graduated from Lynn School of Nursing in 1963.
She met her husband, Gordon "Stewart" Redman, Jr while attending a school dance at the school of nursing. They married in November 1963 at the Martha Mary Chapel in Sudbury Massachusetts. Joyce spent her career taking care of others at various hospitals and facilities including Nashua Memorial Hospital (now Souhegan Regional Medical Center) and Community Council of Nashua. Later she got her bachelor's degree from Springfield College.
During her life she worked full time as a nurse, assisted her husband with their flower shop in Merrimack, and was a girl scout leader. She lived many places including Stow, MA, Brattleboro, VT, Stamford, NY, Meredith, Amherst, Merrimack, and Goffstown, NH. She supported her husband in the Merrimack Rotary Club and received their Paul Harris award. Later she became a deacon at Bedford Presbyterian Church. She prided herself on being strong and self-sufficient, having learned that from her mother. She was proud of raising two strong daughters.
She is survived by her children Leah (and Daniel) Wills of Goffstown, NH and Anne Redman of Amelia, Ohio, her grandchildren, Stewart and Amanda Wills, and Ali Haque, along with several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband and siblings Helen (Punty) White and Charles Punty Jr.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday April 19, 2023 at 2pm at Bedford Presbyterian Church.
