Mary Jane "MJ" Allen, 59, of Boscawen, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2002, at Concord Hospital, after a brief illness. Mary Jane was born on September 30, 1943, in Old Town, Maine, daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia (Harris) Beale. She was the widow of William R. Allen IV, to whom she was married for 25 years, prior to his death on August 4, 1998. Mary Jane was recently employed with the Department of Health and Human Services in Concord. She was previously employed with St. Paul's School in Concord for 7 years. Mary Jane enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, companion Joseph N. Boisvert and her dog, Suzie. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening and quilting, especially with her friends from the Capital Quilters Guild. Mary Jane will be remembered as a caring and loving person and she will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, D. Eric and Andrea Day, of Nashua, a daughter, Denise M. Day, of Holmdel, New Jersey, two sisters, Nancy Cossette of Concord and Suzanne Watson of West Chesterfield, New Hampshire, and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Emily. A service will be announced and held at a later date.
