Mary Burris

Mary E. (Cavanaugh) Burris, 82 of Salem, New Hampshire passed away Monday, September 26^th, 2022 at the Salemhaven Long Term Care and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on October 8^th, 1939, in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of Robert and Alice Cavanaugh (Smith). She was raised in Tewksbury, MA. Mary served lunch to the children of Salem for many years, and worked at Walmart in Salem, NH before she retired. Grammy “Walmart” enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially taking them to Dunkin’ Donuts when they came to visit her.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Blair Burris Jr. She is survived by her children Mary Warner and her husband George of Errol, NH; Donna Drouin of Andover, MA; Lisa Demers and her husband Stephen of Salem, NH; Daniel Burris of Derry, NH, Robert and his wife Meghan of Hampstead, NH; and David and his life partner Sarah of Seabrook, NH. She leaves behind many grandchildren including; Danielle and her fiancé Ryan, Briana, Ryan, Juliana, Bryce, Nylah, Morgan, Caylyn, Megan and her husband Doug, Valerie, Lyndsey, Michael and his wife Maya. She also leaves behind many siblings, nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

She will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH, where a private, graveside service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in Mary’s memory, to Salemhaven, 23 Geremonty Drive, Salem, NH or www.salemhaven.com.
