Mary Jane Cecile Cross

Mary Jane Cecile Cross (Desrosiers), 94, of Nashua, NH passed away following a period of declining health December 16, 2021.

Mary Jane was born in Nashua April 16, 1927, to Ernest and Philome (Noel) Desrosiers. She was educated in area schools and was an accomplished pianist. Mary Jane deeply enjoyed her work with the children as Lunch Monitor for over 23 years at Amherst St and Charlotte Ave Elementary Schools. She was a professional pianist and singer for most of her life and was a member of the Jem Trio band, later renamed the Crosswinds, with her husband Edson. She played over 500 nights at the Keyboard Lounge and also played at many weddings and other gatherings. She loved teaching others her craft and was also a piano teacher for more than 25 years.
She attended Saint Christopher's Church for most of her life and loved tending to her garden, spending many hours a day in her yard. She especially loved looking at her flowers. She had the best laugh that put a smile on anyone’s face who heard it.
Mary Jane is survived by her husband, Edson Cross; her sons Norman Cross of Lyndeborough, NH, David Cross of Jaffrey, NH, and Stephen Cross from Nashua; daughter Debra Cross of Morganton, North Carolina; and her brother Paul Desrosiers of Nashua. She has 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Brian Cross; sisters Claire Hayden (Desrosiers) and Therese St Laurent (Desrosiers); and brothers Leo Desrosiers and Bobbie Desrosiers.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial being held at 10:00am Saturday, January 8, 2022, at St Christopher Parish, 62 Manchester Street in Nashua. Burial will follow immediately at Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst Street in Nashua. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is assisting the family with arrangements.
