Mary K. Stickney

Mary Katherine Stickney, 58 of Concord, NH passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on February 1, 2023, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua NH from complications of diabetes.

Mary was born on May 8, 1964, the daughter of the late John P. Stickney, Sr and Elaine F. (Bursaw) Stickney Dunham in Lowell MA. She was a 1982 graduate of Presentation of Mary Academy, Hudson NH. She enlisted in the US Army in 1984 and served as a Culinary Specialist in Bad Kreuznach, West Germany and Fort Hood, Texas. Following her discharge, she continued her career as a Culinary Specialist at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA until illness forced her retirement.

Mary Kaye, as she was called by family loved crafting, creating her own jewelry. She also enjoyed music, dancing, and baking treats with her grandchildren. She loved to travel especially the road trips she took with her daughter and grandchildren.

Mary is survived by two children, Joel T. Stickney of Dracut, MA and Ashley M. Gurski of Concord, NH; five grandchildren, Ace & Linnea Stickney of  Manchester, NH, Christopher B., and Brandon C. Gurski and Jynesis Pierre of Concord, NH. She is also survived by four siblings, John (Jack) Meservey of Norfolk, VA, Sally E. Cockerline of Kingston, NH, Thomas J. Stickney of Derry, NH and John P. Stickney of Commerce, GA. She leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her companion, Anthony Cabral of Hudson, NH. She was predeceased by her parents and a grandson, Joel T. Stickney, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to gather Wednesday, February 8, 2023, 1:00-2:00PM at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire, 172 King Street, Boscawen NH. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 in the funeral home chapel with burial immediately following at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery,  110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH 03303.
