Mary Susan Vacco, age 69, of Penacook, New Hampshire, passed away on Thursday (June 6, 2013) at Concord Hospital with her family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mary was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 6, 1944. She was the daughter of the late John George Vacco and the late Agnes (Karl) Vacco but the mother she knew and was raised with was the late Vera (Robinson) Vacco.
Mary, who preferred to be called Sue, worked most of her life as a waitress/bartender. Sue's last place of business was at the Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV where she worked for many years and had countless friends before she retired in 2005.
Sue leaves her son, Scott Chaplin and daughter-in-law, Annlyn Chaplin of Loudon, NH. Sue also leaves behind her beloved sister, Shirley Chappetto of Chicago, IL, and numerous nephews, nieces, a grandson and great grandson.
Sue was a very strong and independent person who touched many lives and loved with her whole heart. Sue loved reading, traveling, relaxing and watching television. She also enjoyed simply spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.
At Sue's request, the service will be a private event for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 555 East 51st Street, Washington, DC 55505.
