Brentwood, NH Mary Ellen (Tucker) Willard, 54, of South Road in Brentwood died on Monday, January 7, 2002 at Exeter Hospital after a valiant struggle with breast cancer. She was born on May 3, 1947 in Barre, Vermont, the beloved daughter of Cecil (Pete) and Arline (Ewen) Tucker. She was a 1965 graduate of Spaulding High School in Barre, VT. In her youth she was involved in Girl Scouts, youth group and was a Past Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls. She later became a member of Ruth Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Barre. After graduation from high school she worked in the Medical Records Department at Barre City Hospital. She married Thomas Willard on June 2, 1967 and moved to Germany where her husband was stationed in the service. Upon their return, the Willards settled in Richmond, Vermont where they lived for 24 years. She was employed by the Chittenden East School District for many years. During that time she was an active member of the Richmond Congregational Church. In 1993 she moved to Brentwood and soon began her employment with the Town of Kingston Selectmen's Office where she worked until the time of her death. She was an active member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ Brentwood-Kingston where she sang in the choir. Mary loved the ocean, crafts, music, bowling and candy-making. In addition to her parents and her husband Tom, Mary's family includes two daughters, Heather Willard Parizo, her husband Neil and son Taylor of Holly Springs, North Carolina and Holly Willard and her daughter Haylea Verrastro of Dover, NH. She also leaves a brother and sister-in-law William and Debbie Tucker of Los Banos, California and a sister and brother-in-law Jane Tucker and Kevin Thompson of Putnamville, VT; two sisters-in-law, Kay Roberts and her husband Daniel of Plainfield VT and Marlene Willard of East Montpelier, VT and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Pilgrim United Church of Christ Brentwood-Kingston, Route 111A in Brentwood, NH. The Reverend Kimberly S. McKerley will officiate.
