Mrs. MaryAnne Wesley (née McCarthy), of Portsmouth, NH, passed away on August 15, 2017 at the age of 78.
MaryAnne, daughter of Melvin and Dorothy McCarthy was born on December 23, 1938, the eldest of two girls and raised in Portsmouth, NH.
MaryAnne was one of the east coast's most beloved English teachers, holding positions at various high schools and colleges, including Traip Academy, SNHU, Immaculate Heart Academy, and CFCC in Florida. She had a passion for teaching and reading the classics yet always set time aside for the new bestsellers. She was proud and loving of her family and her animals, including a few champion Morgan horses and multiple Labradors throughout her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Sara Curtis and her husband Michael; her sister, Sheila Moesch and husband Jim; niece and nephew Anne-Marie and Jamie, and their spouses and children; her three grandchildren; Megan, Nicholas, and Evan; and 2 great-grandchildren; Kaiden and Rhea.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Gathering to appreciate MaryAnne's life will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, 98 Summer St., Portsmouth, on Friday, September 8 from 10:00A.M. to 11:00A.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated for MaryAnne at 11:00A.M. Following Mass, Mrs. Wesley will have her ashes interred at Calvary Cemetery, Middle Rd., Portsmouth.
