Matthew "Matty" Elliott Dentzau

Matthew “Matty” Elliott Dentzau, 43, of Manchester, NH, passed away on September 18, 2022. He was predeceased by his mother Mary Elizabeth Dentzau, and he leaves behind his father, Thomas Eugene Dentzau, the love of his life, Amy Jo Dentzau, his 9 brothers and sisters: Thomas Dentzau and wife Holly, Marie Bruso and partner Richard Morrell,  Mark Dentzau and wife Susan, Michael Dentzau and wife Robyn, Tammy Beaulieu and husband Robert, Theresa Sullivan and husband Paul, Melissa Carosello and fiancé Thomas Pickup, Todd Dentzau and wife Debbie, Tonia Priore-Dentzau and partner Nip Eisenhower, as well as many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Matthew was born in Springfield, MA and moved to Nashua, NH in 1995 to join the Spartans Drum and Bugle Corps. He was a snare drummer and competed in national competitions for several years. Throughout his time with the Spartans, he formed lifelong friendships and touched so many people with his infectious energy, smile, and love of life.

Matthew was a passionate New England sports fan who never lost faith in any of the teams, cheering them on in his jerseys, and always “willing it” – and wanted his friends to join him in willing wins (and his beloved pups too: Jake, Caesar, and CJ). Matthew was a very creative and artistic person. He loved to paint and would often gift his artwork to his loved ones who cherished them. He was also gifted in the culinary arts, always making sure his friends and family were well fed, always receiving rave reviews. Matty also played guitar and was learning to play the piano. He would often have a Bluetooth speaker to play his favorite songs for all to hear – often with #41 by Dave Matthews Band to kickstart any adventure whether it be on his electric bike riding on the rail trails or on the way to the beach and camping.

A passionate and kindhearted soul lost too soon. With a renewed sense of strength, he had dreams he wanted to fulfill, more adventures he wanted to take and achieve goals that he set for himself.  We will miss hearing his silly, albeit infamously annoying, responses of: “Reeeaaalllyyyy???” and “Do youuuuu???”.

Rest in peace and follow your dreams.  May you find a way to achieve your ambitious goals to see the world now. The loving person you were will forever be with us “mini Matt”.
