Matthew Grant Mead (57), a long-time resident of Concord, NH, passed away on December 11, 2025, in Concord, NH after a long illness.
Matthew was born on May 26, 1968, in Concord, New Hampshire, the son of Everett R. and the late Marie E. (Wheeler) Mead. A man of many talents, he worked as an author, photostylist, and most recently, a digital creator. He had a unique and inspired vision for beauty, building a successful career that spanned decades that allowed him to share his passion with the world, authoring numerous books, countless magazines, and endless articles and stories.
Matthew was a kind soul who was cherished and beloved by many. He maintained deep and meaningful ties with friends from childhood, and over the years formed lasting and profound friendships with his partners and collaborators. While his illness presented many challenges, Matthew at his heart was a caregiver and fighter and gave every ounce of his being to persevere until the end. In one last monumental grand gesture, Matthew became an organ donor… a gift he was so close to being the recipient of himself. With this last act, Matthew left this world as he lived, changing the lives of others for the better.
