Matthew James Tousignant, 56, of Concord, passed away Wednesday, June 22, at the Concord Hospital after a short period of declining health.
He was born in Concord, the beloved son of Robert and Carolyn Tousignant, on December 10, 1965. Matt grew up in Concord and graduated from Concord High School in 1984. He relocated to the greater Boston area, where he worked for Fresenius Medical Care and then Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, in the areas of benefits administration and medical record data collection. Matt also served as a longtime volunteer for the Animal Rescue League of Boston. He recently returned to Concord.
Matt's infectious laughter and radiant smile will be remembered by all who enjoyed his company. His "creative" dance moves were the envy of all his friends. A true gentleman, he was always the most fashionable and dapper man in the room. Matt
was a voracious reader who loved many genres of literature. An avid card player, the odds were against you if you dared to play him in cribbage, thirty-one, or spades. He cared deeply for his family and friends. Taken too soon, he had so much more love
and laughter to give and will be missed by all who were lucky to have spent time with him.
He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Carolyn Tousignant.
He is survived by the love of his life David Bianco who he spent 29 years with and loved until the end. Siblings, Susan Cullum of Concord, Robert Jules Tousignant Jr. and his partner Vicki Blair of Portland Ore., John Tousignant and his partner Debbie Kirsch of Chichester, Marie Colbath and her husband David of Meredith, Carolyn Tousignant of Tucson, Ariz., Ann Falvey and her husband Tim of New Hope, Pa., and Jason Tousignant and his wife Julie of Concord.
The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses, LPNs and all the staff at the Concord Hospital for the extraordinary care they gave him in his final days.
There will be a graveside service at Blossom Hill Cemetery in Concord on Thursday, June 30th at 11 am. Everyone is welcome to join the family at the Red Blazer on Manchester Street in Concord for a celebration of life following the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Matt's name to The Animal Rescue League of Boston at arlBoston.org.
