Maureen "Moe" Angelini, devoted wife and mother, died unexpectedly on February 12th, 2018 in Bedford, NH. She was 69 years old.
Maureen was born on April 11th 1948 in Fall River, MA to her parents Frank and Annette Angelini (née Dubeau). She graduated from St. Anselm College in 1970 with a degree in nursing. In 1973, she graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Master of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health and Midwifery. Soon after, she met and married Paul Spivack in 1974.
She practiced women's health and midwifery for 10 years in a variety of settings, from hospitals to universities, until obtaining a Masters in Nursing with a concentration in pediatrics in 1987 from Yale University. Thereafter, she practiced nursing as a pediatric nurse practitioner, an adolescent health consultant for the State of New Hampshire, and an ER nurse. As a nurse, Maureen was widely admired by her patients and colleagues as a dedicated practitioner who was detailed in her work and advocated strongly for her patients. She retired from practice in 2015.
Maureen was known for having an adventurous spirit with a profound desire for new experiences and a deep love for animals. As an adult, she learned and played hockey and football with women half her age. Having always had a deep love for the ocean, she took up scuba diving, which brought her all across the Pacific and Caribbean. Later, she used this skill to become a volunteer at the New England Aquarium in Boston for 6 years, caring for their animals and diving in their Giant Ocean Tank. She also took up horseback riding and moved to a farm in Francestown, NH to care for her three horses: Callie, Cody, and Doc. Her wicked sense of humor, passion, and energy was known to all who loved her.
Maureen is survived by her husband of 43 years, Paul, three sons, Steve, Peter, and Andy, and grandson William.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will begin at 6:30pm on Thursday February 15th at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH 03104. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Maureen's name to the Ocean Conservancy (www.oceanconservancy.org/ways-to-give/).
