Maureen E. Barrett

Maureen Ellen Barrett, 72, of Keene, NH passed away on March 18, 2025.She was born on December 3, 1952 in Manchester NH and was raised and lived there for most of her life. She spent her remaining years in Keene, NH as her son helped her live the best life she could as she had a hard battle with multiple sclerosis.

Maureen was the daughter of John and Therese Barrett who passed away when she was very young and she always loved to reminisce and talk about all the cherished memories she had with them growing up in Manchester.

She graduated from Central High School in Manchester, NH in 1972. She also attended Notre Dame college for a few years after high school.

She retired from the Veterans Administration, a job she took great pride in. She was always happy and eager to do whatever she could to support veterans, ensuring their lives were as easy and comfortable as possible.

She always found joy in relaxing and spending quality time watching movies and TV shows with her children whenever she could. She made it a point to post on social media, hoping to bring a smile to someone's face and brighten their day. She was a constant source of support for anyone who needed it, always ready to lend a hand. To take her mind off things, she loved playing SongPop, her favorite game on her iPad. Her favorite moments were spent playing SongPop with her daughter, often multiple times a day. She always made sure her children knew they were deeply loved, doing everything she could to make them feel cherished and spoiled beyond measure.

She had a younger sister Therese Jones who passed away in 2014 from cancer, Maureen was always so grateful that they were able to talk and bond even for a little while before she passed.

She had two very loving children, a daughter Sarah Coppez, son Stephan Coppez, and the most wonder cat Hobbes who always loved to snuggle with her as much as she could.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday March 28th from 4-6 pm at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire located at 243 Hanover St. Manchester, NH.
