Maureen (Coughlin) Costello, 66, of Rochester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at her home on September 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on July 10, 1959, in Stamford, Connecticut, Maureen was the daughter of Thomas and Patricia Coughlin. She married the love of her life, Brian Costello, in 1984 at St. Michael’s Church in Exeter, NH. Over the next 41 years, they built a life centered on family, raising three children and later becoming proud grandparents to three grandchildren.

Maureen worked at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover as a Health Unit Coordinator on 3West. She was beloved by her colleagues for her warm spirit, infectious laugh, and the way she always had a good story to share. During her illness, the steady outpouring of support from coworkers and friends was a testament to the lasting impact she had on those around her.

She and Brian shared a love for day trips through the mountains, but nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren. Being "Nana" was her greatest role, and her biggest wish was to see her grandchildren graduate from high school. Although she didn’t get to witness that milestone, her strength, resilience, and love continue to be a guiding light for her family.

Maureen is survived by her devoted husband, Brian, and their three children: Kelly Fontaine, Meagan Costello, and Kyle Costello. She was the beloved grandmother of Natalie, Isabel, and Liam Fontaine. Maureen also leaves behind her three sisters: Pat Coughlin of Newington, NH; Kelly DeCourcy and her husband Mark of Portsmouth, NH; and Tracy Fredey and her husband Steven of Cohasset, MA, along with their daughters Rachel, Sarah, Rebecca, and Leah Fredey. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Lovering, and her husband Allan, whose support meant so much during her illness. We can’t forget to mention her dog, Ginger, who was always by her side and her grand-poodles, Ladybird and Pippin.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate team at Cornerstone VNA & Hospice. Their care, kindness, and support brought comfort during an incredibly difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 26, at The Moose Lodge in Dover, NH, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend, share stories, and celebrate Maureen’s life.
