Maurice Eugene Couturier, 79, of Manchester, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 following a brief but valiant battle with cancer. He was surrounded by family
Maurice was born in Grasmere, NH on September 21, 1938 to Albert and Juliette Lesmerise
Couturier. He worked in maintenance at Mount Washington College, formerly Hesser College, until he retired in 2015 after 36 years of service.
Maurice was a skilled carpenter and woodworker and a golf enthusiast, playing countless rounds with friends during his life. He spent many years as a little league and softball coach, coaching Central Little League, Pony League and Senior League as well as the Hesser College and South Junior Deb Softball teams, and rose to local stardom as the designer of Red Arrow's original Moe Java coffee mug. To say Maurice adored his family would be an understatement. To him, no time was better spent than with his loving wife, children, grandchildren and dogs.
Maurice is survived by his wife of 43 years, Deborah (Desmarteau) Couturier; his children, John Couturier and wife, Barbara of Deltona, FL , Thomas Couturier of Sarasota, FL, Brian Couturier of Deering, NH, and Robin Potter of Windsor, VT; grandchildren, Brent, Brandon, and Devyn Potter, and Brody Couturier, Stephanie, and Steven Couturier.
Family and friends are invited to gather Tuesday, April 24th 10:00am-12:00pm at the Cremation Society Of New Hampshire, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. A Memorial Service will begin at noon in the funeral home chapel. The Cremation Society of NH is assisting the family with arrangements.
