Captin Big X Edgerton-Pitt-Rocket-Scott, aka Megan Kelleher, aka the greatest boss-leader-captain, has left this world for her next adventure. She is celebrated and missed by her 2 husbands, 101 fiancés, 58 & 59 boyfriends, her family, friends, and the community forever changed by her extraordinary existence. The 3 sons and 4 pets she dreamed up, whom she loved and believed in so deeply, will be part of her always.

Her larger-than-life presence can be characterized in many ways: her sharp-witted humor, which gave rise to so many Megan-isms that the vocabulary of her loved ones is forever altered; her endless well of creativity, in both the art she put to paper and the fantastical, rich, real dream worlds she thrived within; her incredible, endless capacity to give and receive love, her very presence a balm to the soul.

Megan spread joy from the moment she was born, a cuddly, silly, raspberry-blowing baby. In spite of many health issues as a child she was always determined to live on her terms and achieve her dreams. After graduating from Goffstown High School she decided she wanted to go to college and met that goal at the New Hampshire Art Institute. She remained a dedicated artist throughout her life, often gifting friends her work. Her signature self portraits (showing off her freckles) depicted her as she was— the biggest, brightest light in any group.

She loved her community, and spent her twenties working and volunteering in Goffstown and Manchester. When she joined the Rising Stars, an adult advocacy group, she truly found her people, fitting right in with peers who loved singing, dancing, art, music and friendship as much as she did. Her proudest achievement was running for and winning the seat of Vice President of the Rising Stars (she also soaked up the ovations at every annual “Dancing with the Rising Stars” event).

Megan was the ultimate captain of her own life (even when it came to the spelling of her moniker). After being diagnosed with heart failure in 2015, she was told over and over that the prognosis was not good. But she made her own rules and adapted to her new normal on her terms: swapping fast food for smoothies, getting outside for nature walks, and dedicating herself to her daily dance workouts. Those closest to her found their own habits improved from her inspiration.

In her final months in this world she continued to inspire her loved ones. Her sense of humor never faltered, her excitement to win at game night never waned, and even in sleep she could still be spotted fighting off the bad guys. Forever our hero, forever our “Captin.”

She was sassy, opinionated, gentle, clever, stubborn, brave, kind, funny, gorgeous and smahht. And if you forgot to list one of her positive attributes, she’d remind you. She loved and was fiercely beloved.

As she always promised she’d be, she is the greatest hero who saved us all.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests a donation in the Captin’s name to “The Rising Stars” at The Moore Center. Her mother Nancy and sister Christina will be holding a private celebration of life next summer, because she loved nothing so much as a good party in her honor in shorts and flip flops.

Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Manchester.
