Melody Agnes Fogg, 78, passed away on April 7, 2022 at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH. Melody was born on July 24, 1943 in Groveton, NH to the late Jack and Celina (Pinette) Call.
She was the wife of the late Dana Fogg.
When asked what she did for a living, Melody always replied that she ‘just stayed home with the kids.’ She did so much more than that. She was a caregiver at heart, and she provided a loving, supportive and safe environment for not only her husband and her children, but also her siblings, nieces and nephews, and anyone who needed it. She protected those she loved, and everyone knew better than to mess with ‘The Mama’. On any given day, her house would be filled to the brim with neighborhood kids. In the days of latch key kids, Melody’s house was a place to hang out and stay out of trouble while you waited for your parents to get home.
Above all, Melody was a survivor. She lost her husband of 25 years unexpectedly, leaving her the single mother of a teenager and a 9-year-old. Thru her own grief, she supported her children unconditionally and provided them with a stable, loving ‘new normal’. She remained strong and positive thru several medical challenges, always able to put a comedic spin on the situation and have those around her laughing. She never hesitated to let the people around her know she loved them, both in word and action, and the world is a dimmer place without her in it.
Melody had many hobbies throughout the years, and any crafts she would be working on depended on what she felt like that day. She created the most beautiful silk flower arrangements and would spend hours coming up with the perfect arrangement for what she envisioned. She loved to read, crochet, and anything else that struck her fancy. Once she moved back to Groveton, she because active in the Methodist Church, volunteering in the kitchen for special events and attending bible study groups. She also attended the senior meals in Groveton with her friends several times a week.
In addition to her husband and parents, Melody was predeceased by her younger brother Sandow Call. Melody is survived and will be dearly missed by her daughter Amber Fogg, her son Justin Fogg and his wife Caitlin, her sister Trudy Ann Parker and her husband Donald, her brother Jon Call and his wife Sandra, her niece Rena Call and her fiancé Zack Kirk and multiple nieces and nephew, as well as great nieces and nephews
Family and friends are welcome to attend her graveside service on Saturday, May 14th at 11 am at the Ridgewell Center Cemetery in Guildhall, VT. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Foundation. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire has been entrusted with arrangements.
