Melvin Kelley

Melvin "Brutus" Ora Kelley Jr., 57, of Penacook, passed away peacefully at Concord Hospital, following a brief illness, on Wednesday May 17, 2017. He was born July 17, 1959, in Newport, VT, to Melvin Sr. and Mary Kelley. Melvin was a graduate from Newport, VT high school and later became a resident in Penacook. Melvin worked as a transformer technician at TSI in Concord, and at one point worked as a laborer for Penacook tannery.
Mel was a diehard New England Patriots fan and a Red Sox fan. It didn't matter who was playing on Sunday afternoon, he was there watching and rooting for someone. Mel enjoyed taking trips to Foxwoods with his friends and family. He had many friends he thought fondly of in the Penacook and Concord area.
Melvin was predeceased by both his parents, his grandmother who helped raise him, his brother Michael Kelley, and his uncle Maurice Morse. He is survived by his aunt Claudine Morse, his live in family Shelly Winchester-Grant, Nick White, and Jason Brooks, along with many friends and family.
A Celebration of his life will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire Boscawen chapel located on 172 King St., Boscawen.
Melvin's cremated remains will be dispersed at a later time in Newport VT where he had many fond memories growing up with his grandmother.
