Michael John Miner

Michael John Miner, 56, passed away peacefully July 22, 2022 with his wife by his side while at home in Salem, NH. He was born July 10, 1966 in Lowell, MA. He was the youngest of five children born to Marceline and Robert Miner Sr.  Michael was as tough as nails and yet he was thoughtful, caring and had a softer side buried beneath the tough outer shell.

Michael grew up in Tewksbury, and as a child he attended Tewksbury public schools and spent time with neighborhood friends. He traveled with his family to London, California and many other places. Mike and his family spent several summers enjoying the family vacation home on Cape Cod.

Michael graduated Shawsheen Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School in 1984 where he studied carpentry. After high school Michael worked as a carpenter before joining Sonoco in Lowell, MA where he met several friends with whom he maintained several life-long friendships. He later worked at Brockway Smith in Andover for several years. After leaving there he worked with his future wife at Foster-Miller in Waltham.

In 1995 Michael and Susan reconnected after being friends during their teenage years. They got engaged in California in 1998 and married in July 2001.

Michael worked at Foster Miller for more than 10 years before working for the United States Postal Service for over 17 years. He started as a part time flexible employee and promoted several times to his final position as an Electronic Technician in the Nashua P&DC. He was a dedicated and valued employee.

Michael enjoyed traveling, camping, four wheeling, snowmobiling and gardening. He loved to do home improvements and kept himself busy with projects of all types and sizes. He had a voracious appetite for learning new things and enjoyed exploring the latest in technology, incorporating it wherever possible.

His lifelong love of motorcycles became a shared passion when he got engaged. He taught Susan how to ride a motorcycle and during their marriage and in their years together they enjoyed traveling and often they explored the country with their motorcycles.

In his final days he became an ordained minister in order to perform the marriage ceremony for one of his very good friends and fiancé.

Michael is survived by his loving Wife, Susan Miner, his siblings Patricia Hayward and her husband David Hayward, Sr., Robert Miner, Jr., James Miner and David Miner along with a niece, nephews, cousins and many other extended family members.
