Michael W. Supry “Soup” 67, of Sullivan, NH left his physical hinderances behind when his spirit was freed on Friday, October 25, 2024 while in the comfort of his wife, Cindy’s arms, his family close by and the sounds of the ocean playing, after a 13-year courageous fight with cancer. Mike, ended his fight with grace, strength and on his own terms. His passing leaves a loss for anyone who knew him, whether it was for a day or a lifetime. Knowing Soup, you knew a purely genuine soul with a sense of humor that could not be matched.
Mike was born on July 9, 1957 in Corpus Cristi, TX to Maurice and Czelslawa “Chesha” (Kamieniecki) Supry. He grew up in Keene, NH with his three siblings on Pearl St. where he formed lifelong friendships with his neighbors. Mike graduated from Keene High School and entered the work force as a Certified Heavy Equipment Operator. He loved working with backhoes and excavators. He could be seen with his crew breaking pavement with their jackhammers in the summer sun, topless and carefree. He worked many years for Zee Industries and later with R.H. White Company. For the last 11 years, he worked with his good friend, Roger Birch constructing boat bars at Bar Craft. Mike was able to remain unwed well into his 50’s until love overcame him and in perfect Mike fashion he proposed with “I guess this means we’re getting married”. Mike and Cindy exchanged vows on New Year Day 2012 after a very special reverse wedding the night before. Mike was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles- Aerie 1413 as well as The William Marconi Italian Club and American Legion Post #4.
Mike enjoyed rides on his Harley, teaching his sons to swim with his “sink or swim” technique, helping his bonus daughters with home repairs, fishing off the coast of the Atlantic, putting on fireworks displays on the 4th of July for the fans of Silver Lake, attending his grandchildren’s birthdays, doing the Supry Shuffle, bringing his ’55 Bel Air to classic car shows, hosting the annual Supry Luau and smoking his cigars and drinking “beers” at the Geriatric Frat house in Port Orange, FL, once it became “White Claw O’clock”. Mike could be seen getting his morning coffee that needed to have at least 6 sugars, at Cumbies, in his camo shorts, regardless of the temperature outside. Let us not forget his endless hunt for bigfoot!
Mike is survived by his wife, Cindy (Hutchins), his sons, Joshua and his wife Kristen (Hurt) Supry and Jesse Supry. His bonus daughters, Candi (Guyer) and her husband Anthony Dionne and Carri Guyer. His sister Cynthia Supry Scheuer and her husband Michael. His brother John Supry and his wife Marga (Torres). Mike was an amazing Pepa to, Zoie Supry, Marshall Dionne, Jaxon and Carson Sevene, Jasiah, Teagan and Marlee Sales. Mike is also survived by his nephew Nicholas Supry and nieces, Crista and Michelle Scheuer. The abundance of friends that became family is too long to list.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother James Supry, and a granddaughter Isabella Sevene.
Mike’s generosity and ability to tell it like it was, made being in his presence refreshing. His gruff voice and roll of his eyes will be forever branded in our memories.
A Celebration of Mike’s Life will take place on Sunday, November 17, 2024 from 1-5pm at the Elk’s Lodge in Keene, NH. The family invites you to come and remember the good times had with Mike. Bring your stories to share. Because Cancer is Effin’ Bull…., the family asks that in lieu of flowers, you donate to a Cancer charity that is special to you in honor of Mike.
