Mona MacDonald, 46, of Manchester, died on Tuesday, August 22, 2017.
Mona is the daughter of Brian F. MacDonald and grew up in Shelburne, VT. She attended the University of Vermont earning her bachelor degree in 1993. Mona worked for US Senator Patrick Leahy for a short duration during college. This was a wonderful experience that left a lasting impression on her. After college Mona attended New England Law in Boston where she earned her law degree in 1996. After law school Mona took a job as an Institutional Review Board (IRB) Administrator at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Boston, MA. Here she facilitated a monthly meeting to review the human research studies being conducted there and ensured they complied with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies, including standards of excellence necessary for maintaining accreditation status. This work was Mona's calling as she was very dedicated to ensuring the patients got the treatments they, at times, desperately needed. Mona worked at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH, from 2000 to 2010 as the IRB Manager. In 2003 Mona married Eric (Smyrl) MacDonald whom she met in South Boston, MA. Mona and Eric enjoyed eating at local restaurants together establishing some lasting relationships with owners and staff.
Mona was caring and compassionate towards animals contributing to various individuals and groups that provided protection and adoption services to them. Mona spent her final years with her loving husband and their 2 dogs, Snowy and Daisy. She was devoted to them and took care of them in every way she could. Mona will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She will be at peace in the Kingdom of God.
