Mrs. Muriel Joy (Russell) Morrissette, 86, of Boscawen died Monday November 12, 2007 at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, where she had been a longtime resident. She was born on June 4, 1921 in Farmington, NH the daughter of the late Verdrum Bug W. Russell and Evelyn May (Rhodes) Russell. She grew up in the seacoast area. She graduated from Farmington High School. Mrs. Morrissette held a variety of jobs, from teaching sewing for Singer in Laconia, to shop clerk and finally as a sole layer for Somersworth Shoe in Somersworth for 15 years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and walking by the ocean. She enjoyed crafts, knitting and crocheting. She was predeceased by her first husband John A. Bean, her second husband, Joseph Morrissette, her sons, Adrian Lee Bean and Russell John Bean and her brothers, David Russell and Lee Calvin Russell. She is survived by her daughters, Doris L. Corliss of Sanbornton, NH and Janet Desmarais of East Wakefield, NH; son, Allan D Bean and his wife Caroline Wu of Kennebec, WA; daughter-in-law, Cecelia Bean of Arizona; sisters in-law, Barbara Russell, of Farmington N.H, and Gertrude Russell, of Newport, N.H. 10 grandchildren, Bob and Mark Corliss, both of Northfield, NH, David Bean of Oregon. John Bean of Denver, Co, Gayle and Joseph Bean, both of Phoenix, Sandra Parker of Keene, Lynne Royce of Winchester, Scott Desmarais of Rochester and Jayson Desmarais of East Wakefield; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be laid to rest at Pine Grove cemetery in Farmington next to her youngest son on Monday at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers donations in Muriel's memory can be made to the Merrimack County Nursing Home, Lawn Furniture Fund, 325 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH 033303.
