Myla Simonatis, 88, died at her home in Belmont on November 24, 2002. Mrs. Simonatis was born on October 13, 1914 in Gardner, MA daughter of the late Basil and Ethel Burnett. In 1947 Mrs. Simonatis and her late husband of 40 years, Charles Simonatis, moved to York, Maine where they owned and operated a summer resort. After 27 years they retired and relocated to the Lakes Region. Her interests included many outdoor activities and in her later years she particularly enjoyed gardening and extensive traveling. She was a member of the Road Runners Club and 50/50 Club in Belmont and a member of the Meredith Garden Club. She was also a member of DAR. Family members include; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Sandra) Bridges of Southwest Harbor, Maine and Joan S. Howard of Warren, NH; six grandchildren, Mark, Robin, Kimberly, Jeffery, Jennifer and Sarah; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a private family graveside service at a later date.
