Nancy Bruns

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Nancy Bruns, 84 of Manchester, NH on Tuesday, March 16, 2021.

Nancy was a long time resident of Manchester and those who were fortunate enough to meet Nancy would agree that she was like a sweet tiny pixie fairy zipping around as fast as she could, bringing a smile and happiness to everyone she met. Nancy was so fast on her feet that it wasn't uncommon to lose her in the grocery store. You would turn your back for a split second and she would be three isles ahead of you, smiling, and wondering what took you so long.

Nancy inherited her father's love of politics, the outdoors and gardening. Often you could find Nancy outside chatting with the neighbors with a pile of weeds that she just yanked from her garden in her hand. She took such pride in her flowers and she loved chatting with her neighbors. We are so eternally grateful to the folks in her neighborhood who loved, cared and watched out for Nancy after the passing of her beloved husband, Maynard Bruns in 2017.
Nancy also loved to travel. She became an army wife and traveled around the world with her husband and family before settling down in Manchester. She loved to tell stories of her travel.

Nancy had six children: Keith, Kathy, Kelly, Heidi, Hope and Kenny-Lynn and their spouses Laura, Larry, Geof, Braxton and Ed, eleven grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Nancy had another family as well, the staff and residents at the Birches of Concord. Nancy would often tell us that it was her happy place and for that, we thank you so much. We would also like to thank the staff on 5E at the Concord hospital for their love and support during this difficult time.

A graveside service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 3:00pm so Nancy can join her beloved husband Maynard in interment.

Should friends and family desire, a memorial contribution can be made to either the Paralyzed Veterans of America (https://secure.pva.org/pva/donate-now) or the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org/get-involved-now/other_ways_to_give/planned_giving) in lieu of flowers. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire has been entrusted with arrangements. To view an online tribute, leave a message of condolence or for more information please visit www.csnh.com.
