Nancy Sue Kershaw

Nancy Kershaw, born on January 19, 1953, in Wakefield, Massachusetts, to Edgar Plummer Jr. and Charlette Mae (Johnston) Plummer, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with Frontotemporal Lobe Dementia. She was surrounded by her loving family: the love of her life and devoted husband of 53 years, Stephen Kershaw, her daughter Breeanna Arnold (Kershaw) and her husband David, their three sons Cooper, Carter, and Eli.

Nancy faced a devastating disease with unwavering strength, her smile undimmed and her spirit unbroken. Even as the illness progressed, she viewed the world through a lens of love and forgiveness. She found joy in the moments that truly mattered — moments spent with those she loved. Her family was her anchor, and she embraced each day with gratitude and warmth.

Nancy’s true calling in life was being a "Nana" to Cooper, Carter, and Eli. The bond she shared with her grandsons was profound. She celebrated every milestone, from birthdays and holidays to ordinary afternoons that became magical in her presence. To them, she was a constant source of joy, laughter, and comfort. Whether it was baking cookies, reading stories, or creating adventures in the backyard, Nancy made each moment special. Life was never about the place; it was about the people she held close.

In her career, Nancy dedicated herself to helping others. She worked as a social worker and literacy coordinator, bringing kindness and compassion to families at Woodman Park Elementary School and the Hub Family Resource Center. Her passion for home visits and the genuine connections she formed made her a treasured presence in the community. She believed in the power of empathy and never hesitated to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.

Nancy is also survived by daughter Jennifer White (Kershaw), granddaughters Katherine and Megan, her sister, Heather (Bernie) Goodrich, her brother, Ben (Debbie) Plummer, and many nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. She was a friend to all, a light in the lives of many, and a testament to resilience and grace.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to those who supported Nancy throughout her illness. While dementia took so much, it could never take the love she gave or the joy she brought to the world. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A celebration of Nancy’s life will be held at Tasker Funeral Home in Dover, NH on Thursday March 27, 2025 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her memory to organizations supporting dementia research and care or Cornerstone VNA and Hospice.

Nancy Kershaw's life is a beautiful reminder that even in the face of adversity, love endures. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and endlessly loved.
