Nancy Pike Scott passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026 at Wheelock Terrace in Hanover after a brief illness. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured her family and all who had the good fortune to meet and know her.

She was born on September 28, 1935, in Cambridge, MA, to Charles and Pearl Pike. An avid and talented dancer, Nancy was frequently featured in celebrations and patriotic events throughout the greater Boston area. When her dancing endeavor was upended due to injury, Nancy embarked on a career at the Boston Globe. She often reminisced about the joy she felt being a part of a bustling, demanding yet thoroughly enjoyable work environment. In her later employ at Dartmouth College and Granite State Electric Company, her skills, competence and compassion for her duties were praised by management. She epitomized the ideal of a solid work ethic. Nancy was passionate about her community and serving the needs of others. She served for three years on Lebanon City Council and three years as Assistant Mayor.

Nancy took this work ethic and passionate love of people and focused it on the raising of her children — Roy (Carol) of Shrewsbury, VT, Scott (Debbie) of Campobello SC, Sheri (Chuck) of Orford, NH, David of Lebanon, NH, and Sidney of Lewis Center, OH. She was pre-deceased by the love of her life, David W. Scott, in 2012, and her brother, Harry (Kay), of Albuquerque, NM, in 2013.

She is survived by her children; 6 grandchildren, Heather (Josh), Scottie (Samantha), Corey, Charles, Caitlin (Jarrett) and Quinn (Amanda); as well as 7 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Nate, Meadow, Lane, Natalie, Payton and Bentley. The family is exceedingly grateful to the staff at Wheelock Terrace for their extraordinary care, compassion and professionalism.

Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Manchester. To view Nancy's Online Tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit https://csnh.com.
