Nancy Emma Staples

September 10,1939 – January 14, 2026

Nancy was born in Braintree VT to Raymond Staples and Minnie Ballou. She was their third child. Her father died in 1940 in a farm accident. Her early years were spent in Randolph VT. She moved to Hartland VT when her mother moved to Hartland and married Alfred Nathaniel Jenne. She attended Hartland schools, Windsor High School graduating in 1957. She moved to Wayland MA in 1964 and began working for the Purity Supreme Market chain and a local nursing home. Upon returning to Vermont, she continued working for Purity Supreme in the West Lebanon NH store until retiring. She then earned her LNA certification and worked at Mount Ascutney Hospital Nursing Home. Later she spent her time between Hartland and Shallotte NC where she and her partner maintained a winter home. She came to reside with her brother and his partner in June of 2022 when the early stages of dementia arose. She then moved to Historic Homes of Runnemede in Windsor until her health required more care and she Moved to Grafton County Home in North Haverhill NH where she died.

She is survived by her son, Leroy Staples, her brother, Clyde Jenne, and husband, Bruce Locke of Hartland VT and several cousins and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents and stepfather, her partner John Ballou, her brothers Harold Staples of Atlanta GA, Donald Staples of Enon Valley PA, her sister Glennora Kingsley of Brattleboro VT, and her brother Danny Jenne.
