Neal Michael Dietz passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4th, surrounded by his family and friends after a courageous battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was 69.
Born in Newburgh, New York, on August 21, 1955, Neal grew up facing early hardships, having lost both of his parents by the age of 11. After their passing, he and his brothers were raised by their aunt and uncle.
Despite these challenges, Neal’s strength and resilience became the foundation for a life marked by kindness, perseverance, and generosity.
Neal attended American University and later worked in sales before venturing into the restaurant business with his two brothers in Ithaca, New York. In 1983, Neal shifted his focus and received an accounting degree from Boston University. He went on to become a Certified Financial Advisor, working with Prudential Investment Management Services and Merrill Lynch in Boston.
In 1998, Neal founded his own wealth management firm, Dietz and Lynch Capital. He was honored in 2010 as a top advisor and was named to the LPL Financial Chairman’s Club.
Neal was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Eileen. He is survived by his beloved wife Joy, his children Jason, Rachel (Danielle), Jenna (Chris), Josh, grandchildren Maeve, Emme and Parker and his two brothers, David (Sally) and Jerry (Margaret), along with cousins Marcie Dietz Lipsett (Stuart), Ken Dietz, and Laurie Dietz.
Known for his humor, warmth, and deep generosity, Neal touched the lives of many. He was larger than life yet possessed a quiet sensitivity and responsibility that endeared him to all who knew him.
Above all, Neal was a loving father and devoted loving husband. He cherished the deep emotional connection with his wife Joy, whom he met later in life and adored.
Neal’s legacy of love, humor, and resilience will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him.
