Neal Dustin Lester

Neal Dustin Lester, 82, of Franklin, NH, passed away peacefully at his home on August 31, 2025. Neal was born on August 12, 1943, in Claremont, NH to the late Charles and Ruth Lester. He was preceded in death by his brother C. Russell Lester (Shirley) and sister Sheryl Gritsavage (Clem).

He is survived by his wife, Linda Lester of 21 years; his children, Laura Lee (Christian) of Bluffton, SC; Mark Lester (Jeanne) of Franklin, NH; Julie-Anne LeCompte (Mark) of Londonderry, NH; Wendy Piquette (Joseph) of Camarillo, CA, and his step-daughters Cherie D’Souza (Ivan) of Watertown, MA; Heather Chaplin (Brian) of Laconia, NH, 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Neal was a hard-working and dedicated employee of the New Hampshire Technical Institute for 26 years before he retired in 2007. He was fondly remembered as the one who wore shorts all year long regardless of the weather. Despite his many responsibilities, he always found time to engage everyone in conversation.

Neal was a man of varied interests, a collector of novelties and a Yankee bargain hunter. He left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Neal was a man of deep convictions and was not shy about sharing his opinion. One conviction he wanted to share with everyone was his relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The decision he made in 1972 to give his life to Jesus was his key motivation to share the Gospel of forgiveness only found at the foot of the Cross of Calvary and the freedom and hope that only Jesus can provide.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
