Ned Thomas Bitsack

Ned Thomas Bitsack, DDS, a longtime resident of Nashua, NH, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on October 13, 2016.
Ned was born on September 9, 1956 and was the son of the late Dr. Joseph W. and Gloria A. (Frisco) Bitsack. He is survived by his beloved partner, Gail Cook; his daughters, Alyssa Whitebone of Goffstown, NH and Nicole Susko of Nashua; his grandson Landon James Whitebone of Goffstown; his sister, Paula Reeder of Still Pond, MD; his brothers, Timothy Bitsack of Mendham, NJ, Jeffrey Bitsack of Bainbridge Island, WA and Jay Bitsack of Bethlehem, PA; his nieces, Jessica Bitsack of Morristown, NJ, Willow Bitsack of Bainbridge Island, WA and Emily Biancamano of Bethlehem, PA; and his nephew, Devin Bitsack who resides in Shanghai, China.
Ned grew up in Oradell, NJ and graduated from River Dell High School. He graduated from Ithaca College in 1978 and received his DDS degree from NYU Dental School in 1984. Throughout his professional career, Ned pursued additional graduated dentistry studies and credentials to insure ongoing delivery of state of the art, first class dental services to his patients. He was a member of the NH Dental Society, a fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and a member of the Master Academy of General Dentistry.
Ned was passionately dedicated to his dental practice, servicing the Greater Merrimack NH community. A highly skilled, caring and engaging professional, Ned was respected and beloved by his staff and many patients, alike. It was with great reluctance and sadness that he retired from active practice earlier this year when forced to do so by declining health.
Throughout his life, Ned was an avid sportsman. He played team sports in high school; including football and baseball, and grew up skiing in Vermont and Canada. He loved European sports cars, boating on Lake Winnipesauke, hawking in Vermont and getting away to Stratton Mountain for winter weekends on the slopes with Gail, friends, and family. He was also a keen and highly skilled sport shooting enthusiast. He combined his interest in sport shooting, dentistry skills, creativity and considerable intellect to invent and patent a state of the art safety device for firearms; forming Chamber-View, LLC to produce and market empty chamber indicators for pistols, shotguns and rifles that are, today, widely used in sport shooting competitions throughout the US. In July of this year, he endowed an annual sport shooting competition at the Dutch River Club in Salem NY where he was a founding member. The club has named the competition in his honor.
Ned will be remembered by all who knew and loved him as an exceptionally bright, generous, gregarious, thoughtful, handsome and gifted man, father, brother, and friend; one who endured a terrible illness with seemingly endless optimism and extraordinary courage and grace. His passing is a great loss to his partner, family and friends, as he is, and will forever be, deeply and sorely missed.
In honor of Ned's wishes, a funeral service will not be held at this time.
