Nelva M. Greene passed away on Friday August 18, 2023, at home in Plaistow, surrounded by family. She was born on December 19, 1941, in Curunda, Canal Zone, Panama. She was the daughter of John G. Parker and Matilde (Camarena) Parker. Nelva was the wife of Charles Greene; they were married on January 31, 1962 in Rockville, Maryland.

She graduated from Balboa High School in Canal Zone in 1960. After graduation, she enlisted in the US Army and underwent training at Fort McClellan, Alabama. She was later assigned to the Corps of Engineers at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

After her separation from the Army and her relocating to New England, Nelva became extensively involved in teaching Sunday School. She taught in her church in Massachusetts, as well as in New Hampshire and, for a period of 5 years, in Huntsville, Alabama.

Nelva was predeceased by her parents and older brother, Chalo.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, three children: Charles Jr. of Woburn, Massachusetts; Maria E. Martin of Kittery, Maine; and Kasey A. O'Connor of Claremore, Oklahoma. Additionally, she is survived by two brothers: Charles Parker of Redmond, Oregon, and Thomas of Braselton, Georgia. Nelva is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday September 9, 2023 at Rockingham Church, 90 Newton Rd, Plaistow, NH.
