Nikki Kane, 71, of Manchester, New Hampshire, passed away surrounded by the love of family and friends. She was the beloved daughter of Julie Potter and Robert Kane. She is survived by her cousin, Maureen (Kane) White of Wayland MA, Maureen’s husband Thom, and their daughter Fiona, her beach family, and the many caring communities of friends, coworkers and neighbors she held dear throughout her life.

A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Nikki built an accomplished career in information technology. She was a highly respected IT Help Desk Manager whose leadership, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to helping others made a lasting impact throughout her career. She spent many years with BBN Technologies and Genuity, where she led technical support teams serving thousands of employees, and later continued her work with BAE Systems in both management and service delivery roles. Nikki was known for her exceptional work ethic, her calm presence under pressure, and her genuine care for the people she worked with. 

Nikki embraced life with enthusiasm, authenticity, and compassion. Whether she was cheering at a Rolling Stones concert, curled up with her kitties, attending craft and art fairs or sitting in a chair in the sand by the ocean, Nikki found joy in life's simple pleasures. 

The beach, especially Ogunquit, Maine, was Nikki's happy place. There she built a cherished beach family whose friendships became an important part of her life. Her other great loves were her cats and the cat rescue community in New Hampshire. Nikki devoted countless hours searching for lost cats and reuniting them with their families through Cat Finders, reflecting her lifelong compassion for animals and her belief that every creature deserved kindness and a loving home. Nikki leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and friendship that will not be forgotten. 

A Celebration of Nikki's Life will be held at Ogunquit Beach, Maine, at the ramp between Mile Markers 2 and 3, at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 2nd. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her memory in one of the places she loved most.
