Norman Tom Sawyer Jr., 51, of Nashua died August 19, 2004 at Community Hospice House following a lengthy battle with colon cancer. Tom was born on September 19, 1952 in Methuen, MA the son of Norman and Julie (Standaert) Sawyer, Sr. He was a US Air Force veteran who served during the Vietnam Era. He was employed at Chomerics in Hudson for over 20 years where he was in research and development. Tom enjoyed playing cribbage and bowling with his friends and most recently watching television, doing puzzles and crossword puzzles. Family members include; his former wife, Patricia (Rowell) Sawyer; one son, Ryan W. Sawyer of Nashua; two stepsons, Scott Racicot of Hudson and Mark Racicot of Hollis; his granddaughter who he adored, Ashley Racicot; his mother, Julie Sawyer of Lawrence, MA; two brothers, Lance Sawyer and Kevin Sawyer both of Lawrence, MA; one sister, Fay Sawyer of Lawrence, MA; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is in charge of arrangements.
