Normand Sylvio Belanger

Normand Sylvio Belanger 74, of 33 Gary Avenue Hooksett, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 1, 2006 at the Veterans Hospital in Manchester after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on August 4, 1931 to the late Sylvio and Doris (Dube) Belanger. He attended high school until the 10th grade and enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 11, 1949. He served in the Army during early German occupation from 1949 to December 31, 1952 when he received an honorable discharge and was awarded a medal for good conduct. Mr. Belanger lived in the Manchester area all his life, residing in Hooksett. He was employed at several Manchester Shoe Shops and retired as a Security Officer at Saint Joseph Regional Jr. High School in Manchester. He was a member of Holy Rosary Parish in Hooksett. He leaves one sister; Irene Dulac of Manchester and many friends. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday January 9, 2006 at 4pm at the Holy Rosary Church in Hooksett. Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum at a later date. The Cremation Society of New Hampshire is directing the arrangments www.csnh.com. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph Regional Jr. High School 460 Pine Street Manchester, New Hampshire 03104 to the attention of: Sister Barbara McLean.
