Omer Bourgault, 90, son of the late Armand and Mary Rose Bourgault (Bosselait), passed away peacefully, at home, in Keene, NH, on June 9, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Central Falls, RI and grew up in Pawtucket, RI. In the early 1950s, he moved to Willimantic, CT, later moving to Enfield, CT, where he spent the majority of his life. He was a machinist for over 40 years and enjoyed the precision of the work. During the last ten years of his working life, he was employed as a maintenance man by Signature Aviation at Bradley Airport. Those were his happiest working years, since he loved anything connected to airplanes and always dreamed of learning how to fly. He had a passion, and never-ending knowledge, for all things WWII. He was a member of the Enfield Congregational Church in Enfield, CT, for many years. He was also very involved in the Boy Scouts when his sons were young. His greatest hobby in life was metal detecting. Every year, he could not wait for the big spring thaw, so he could finally dig up treasures. He leaves behind his loving wife, Nadine, of 60 years, his five children, Becky Michalski of Gig Harbor, WA, Matthew Bourgault and his wife Marsi Foster of Charlotte, VT, Sarah Hall and her husband Scott Hall of Titusville, FL, Jessica Spanswick and her husband Billy Spanswick of Enfield, CT, and Nathan Bourgault and his significant other Gina Tammaro of Suffield, CT. He also leaves behind five loving grandchildren, Chelsy Bourgault, Dana Michalski, Jenna Michalski, Zealy Bourgault and Perry Bourgault. He also leaves behind three sons, David, Kevin and Brian Bourgault of Farmington, ME, from a previous marriage. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Rachel Michalski. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love and dirty hands in the garden. He will be missed by many, with endless stories being told with smiles.
There will be no service but a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family, and all will be welcome.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Jimmy Fund.
