Patricia A. Baron

Patricia “Pat” Ann (Darrah) Baron, 84, formerly of Westford and Ashby, Massachusetts, passed away on June 9, 2023. 

Pat was born on December 23, 1938, in Springfield, MA. She was the daughter of Thomas and Adele (Fuller) Darrah.

As the oldest of four children, Pat was a role model to her younger siblings. Growing up she enjoyed dolls and started her lifelong love for animals. Pat raised five children with her husband, John and dedicated her entire life to caring for them. You could find her chaperoning field trips, taking them strawberry picking, baking cookies, and attending numerous horse events throughout the years. She also enjoyed working with children at the 4H camp. Pat and her family loved camping and traveling throughout the country.

Pat was a quiet and truthful woman, following God and enjoying the simple things in life. She had many passions such as visiting the ocean, researching genealogy, playing cards, and teaching everyone a thing or two about cooking. In her free time, she could be found at church teaching Sunday School, running bible camps or spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. Pat was an avid reader, who loved to knit and sew, and was always tending to her houseplants and many animals. 

She was a friend to all who knew her and will be missed by all those she encountered. She had a huge heart. Above all, she wanted to be remembered as a faithful Christian, who loved being called a wife, a mother, a grandmother and most recently, being called GG by her first great-grandchild. 

She will be sorely missed by her four sons, Mark and his wife, Joanne of Manchester, NH; Jonathan and his wife, Cynthia of Lowell, MA; Steven and his wife, Heidi of Chelmsford, MA; and Peter and his wife, Linda of Manchester, NH; as well as her daughter, Martha Gladu and her husband, Phil of Chester, NH. She leaves behind her nine grandchildren, one great granddaughter, her best friend Priscilla Chapman of Lunenburg, MA; a sister, Lynne Wagner and her husband, William of Chelmsford, MA; a brother, David Darrah, and his wife, Ann of Sandown, NH and her beloved dog, Bailey. 

In addition to her parents, she is pre-deceased by her husband, John of 43 years, and her brother, Thomas Darrah. 

SERVICES: A memorial gathering will be held for Pat on Tuesday, June 20th, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover Street, in Manchester, NH. A celebration of Pat’s Life will follow at 7:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend.
