Patricia Ann Benoit

June 14, 1939 — June 29, 2022

Pelham

Patricia (Pat) Benoit, 83, of Pelham, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2022. She was born to Kathleen McQuaid and Hector Joseph Maille Sr, in Lowell, MA, on June 14, 1939. One of six children, Patricia loved spending time with family especially her siblings Leonard, Donna, Joseph Jr., Richard, and Kathleen (Devlin). She graduated from St. Louis’ School, in Lowell, MA where she learned a new talent of speaking and writing French. Though she enjoyed being able to speak French while vacationing in Canada, she was a proud Irish girl through and through.

Patricia began working directly out of school at the local shoe shop. She was dedicated to her family and would work long hours to make sure that she helped her family get everything that they needed. As luck would have it, she met her husband, Bruce Benoit, in the same trade. They quickly fell in love and were married on September 7, 1957, at an intimate ceremony surrounded by their friends and family.

Shortly thereafter, they moved to Pelham, NH and purchased their first house together. They got to work quickly to help make their house a home, because over the next few years they were blessed with three sons, Kevin, Kenneth, and Dale. Patricia was a dedicated wife and mother, filling their home with laughter, dancing, and meals lovingly made from scratch.

That joy spread as her sons gave her 4 granddaughters, Michele, Shannon, Courtney, and Brittany. Patricia was a dedicated grandmother and shared many special moments with her granddaughters. Often found next to the pool while the kids swam, making fun sweaters with their favorite characters, and making sure they always held her hand on the escalators because she was scared and only they could help her through that fear.

Her love for family also stretched to her extended family; her in-laws Rena Abbott and Alfred Benoit, siblings in-law and their families, Joyce (Benoit) & Leonard Lawrence, Robert & Barbara Benoit, Richard and Dale Benoit, Beverly (Benoit) & Del Soucy, Paul & Linda Benoit, Shirley Benoit, Brenda (Benoit) Cedarburg and Sandra Benoit, and her best friend of over 40 years, Pat Landry.

Patricia’s family extended even further to include her 12 great grandchildren, Derick, Nathan, Ashli, Amanda, Jordan, Caleb, Quinn, Cora, Chris, Brendan, Hope, and Matthew. She created a special bond with each of them and instilled the same family values she shared with her sons and granddaughters.

Patricia cared for animals just as well as she cared for her family. She enjoyed bird watching, saving animals in need, and filling her home with many pets that she lovingly called her kids.

Patricia’s large group of family and friends was not her only accomplishment. She was co-owner of Benoit Auto Sales and Mammoth Heights Land Development and Home Building. Both businesses she started with her husband Bruce. After many years of hard work and growth in the business, she decided to retire to focus again on her family and things she enjoyed, like summers at Newfound Lake, winters snowmobiling in northern New Hampshire, and trips to Florida to enjoy the beach.

Patricia’s smile, laughter, jokes, and lessons will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her son Kenneth, Mother, Father, Siblings, and many extended family members, each who were there to welcome her into their loving arms.

A funeral service will be held on July 15th, 2022 at 2:00pm in St. Patrick’s Church, 12 Main Street, Pelham. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia’s name to the Amedisys Foundation at https://tinyurl.com/Amedisys-Foundation or 3854 American Way, Suite A Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
