Patricia A. Carreiro

Patricia A. Carreiro, age 84 of Derry, NH was called home by her lord on December 12, 2024. She was born on October 11, 1940, in Somerville, MA to the late Ruth (Horner) Bigelow and Thomas F. Bigelow.

Pat was raised and educated in Somerville, MA and later in life she received her associate's degree from NH Technical Institute and a bachelor's degree in human service from Springfield College.

Prior to retirement she worked at Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA where she held the position of Senior Counselor in the Alcohol and Drug Addictions Unit.

She was a friend of Bill W's for 48 years and leaves behind many peers and several beloved women who brought her laughter and joy through the years. Pat believed in laughter being the best medicine and not taking herself too seriously.

Beloved members of her family include a son, Frederick J. Carreiro of Billerica, MA; a late sister, Dorothy (Chickie), and brother-in-law, Leo Herbert of Lowell, MA; a niece of Dracut, MA and a special nephew, Thomas Hebert of Lowell, MA. Ms. Carreiro was predeceased by her brother, Lance Corporal Robert F. Bigelow, USMC.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on December 20th at 11:30 at the Cremation Society of New Hampshire 243 Hanover St, Manchester, NH. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League of NH, 545 Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110.
