Patricia Helen Ann Cotton Jonsson

Patricia Jonsson of Dover NH, died Friday April 9th at the age of 57. Pat was a wonderful woman who had a gift for making people feel loved and at home. Despite challenges she always opened her heart to show her three daughters, Tara Erin, Krista Lin, and Erica Lee that her deep love for them transcended words and in her death she has proven that her love transcends life. Pat was a respected member of the Carroll County community for many years, was one of the first females to be certified as a police officer for the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department, was one of the original members of the Court Juvenile Committee for Carroll County, and was First Assistant Commander at the NH Cadet Training Academy. Later in her life Pat became a member of the Town of Ossipee Conservation Committee, an original member of Parent Link Advisory at Kingswood Middle School, and had been a member of the Second Congregational Church of Ossipee. She cherished the time she had with siblings Judy Patten, Theresa Robshaw, Georgianna Mader, Dana Cotton, Jr., and Rose Firth, as well as many nieces, nephews and close friends. A gathering will be held in the honor of Pat’s memory at the Governor’s Inn, 78 Wakefield St., Rochester NH, on Thursday April 15, from 5-7pm. Her daughters Tara, Krista, and Erica remember their mother saying, “Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, teach me and I understand” and want their mother to know that they do understand. With all the love that three daughters can give we wish our mother peace and hope that in time we will meet her again.
