Patricia R. Mulcahy (Ross) passed away peacefully at the age of 88 in Concord, NH on January 9th, 2025 surrounded by the people who loved and adored her. Patty was born on June 28th, 1936 in East Liverpool, OH to the late Patrick and Elizabeth (Bird) Ross. She grew up in Pittsburg, PA and attended nursing school in Concord, NH. Her career spanned the USA, from the Pentagon in D.C. to the Blue Cross Blue Shield of California, from where she retired.
“Grateful” Patty will be remembered for celebrating 45 years in Alcoholics Anonymous. Her priorities were her family, “Patty’s Posse” (Tammy M, Julie G, Marlene R, Molly S, Pat L, Linda G, Sharon R and Jennifer G) and her service to God and those around her. She was instrumental in helping hundreds of people “trudge the Road of Happy Destiny” (Alcoholics Anonymous, 1939, pg. 164), whether it was sharing her pearls of wisdom at meetings, or sponsoring many women throughout her years of sobriety. She dedicated her life to being of service to many people across the country starting in Maryland, moving onto Manhattan Beach, CA and finally landing in Concord, NH. Her impact on the AA community was far reaching and she will be dearly missed by so many.
Grateful Patty was preceded in death by her son Mark Robinson of Auburn, NH and sisters Catherine (Ross) Youngo of Grove City, PA and Gertrude “Pepi” Meixner of Butler, PA . She is survived by her daughter Leah (Hal) Schaening of Manhattan Beach, CA; 3 Grandchildren, Morgan (Natalie) Schaening, Alexandra (Joe) Branca and McKenzie (Kyler) Thayer; 6 Great Grandchildren, Mila, Noah, Nico, Margot, Paisley and Carly; sister Barbara Lee Smith from Pittsburgh, PA; her daughter in law, Debbie Robinson of Auburn, NH, as well as nieces and nephews and many other loving friends and family across the country.
Friends and family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Presidential Oaks for their care and compassion of Patty during her stay there.
A celebration of Patty’s life is being planned and will be announced at a later date. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Cremation Society of NH, Boscawen. To view Patty's Online Tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit www.csnh.com.
