Patricia Ann Sabattis (Rowe), of Somersworth, NH died in her home, surrounded by her family on May 19, 2017. She was 74 years old.
Patty was born on July 27, 1942 along with her twin sister, Loretta, to Clarence & Mary Rowe of Center Strafford, NH. The two girls, who were the first twins born at Frisbie Hospital in Rochester, remained in extraordinarily close company from an early age and throughout their lives.
Both attended and graduated Austin Cate Academy, where Patty was a member of the Honor Society and graduated in 1961 as valedictorian of her class. In 1962 she married Gordon Sabattis and moved to Portsmouth, NH to raise a family. Over the next 12 years, the couple welcomed four children.
The family moved to Dover in 1976. As the children grew and started their own families, the pair moved to Somersworth with Patty's sister, Lori. When Gordon passed in 2011, the couple had been married for 49 years. Following Gordon's death, the twins remained primary companions until Lori's passing in 2014. Their home was a welcoming destination for all family members, particularly the grandchildren.
Through the years Patty worked for the City of Dover, Developmental Services, Second Generation Thrift Shop and Frisbie Memorial Hospital. She loved her family, her garden, and her animals. She was proud of her Irish heritage, enjoyed thrifting and country music.
Patty passed away peacefully in her home after an extended illness. She will be remembered as a loving sister, mother, aunt & grandmother.
Patty is survived by her four children, Vincent Sabattis and his wife, Tara, of Gardiner, ME; Clint Sabattis and his wife, Wendy of Lebanon, ME; Felicia (Sabattis) LaBranche and her husband, Brian of East Rochester, NH and Justin Sabattis and his partner, Cassandra Patterson of Barrington, NH; her brothers, James Rowe of Pelham, NH and Steve Rowe of Sevierville, TN. She had numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren and will be dearly missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Sabattis of Somersworth and her sister, Loretta Polchies of Somersworth.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Parish of Assumption St. Mary Church in Dover, with a luncheon reception to follow. Reverend Agapit Jean will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Patty's life. Memorial donations may be made to Spaulding Raider Pantry and mailed to 130 Wakefield St, Rochester, NH 03867.
