Patricia Wishart

Patricia Wishart, age 94, died peacefully on May 17 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.

Pat was born in Sydney, Australia to Frederick & Beatrice Keen. After WWII had ended, she sailed to America with her mother and adopted father, George J. Abbott of Saugus, MA. The new family settled in Saugus, where Pat graduated in 1949. She was married to Charles W Wishart, Sr., also of Saugus, in 1950. Pat was always an active person who was always willing to help out. She was an active member of American Legion posts in both Saugus and Lincoln, NH, where she moved to in 2002. She worked and volunteered in many places, but most rewarding was at the Lincoln Public Library. Her love of reading was instilled in her children, and many patrons of the library. Pat was also an excellent seamstress who many in the Lincoln/No Woodstock area relied on for their alterations and mending. There was nothing Pat couldn’t do – knitting, crocheting, needlepoint – most of which she did into her 90s.

Pat was predeceased by her husband, Charlie, in 1988, and her son, Michael, in 2017. Family members include two sons, Charles Wishart, Jr. and his wife, Phu from No Woodstock, NH, and Thomas Wishart and his wife, Sharon from Camden, SC; and three daughters, Mary Normandin and husband Grant (dec) of Merrimack, Rose Tully of Saugus, MA, and Tricia Wishart of Lynn, MA. Other family members include two brothers, Bryan Keen (dec), George Abbott, Jr. and wife, AnnMarie; and her sister, Diane Hunt and husband, James (dec) of Weare, NH. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Patricia’s Committal Service will be held on Wednesday, May 28 at 11AM at Riverside Cemetery, Veteran’s Section, 164 Winter Street, Saugus, MA, followed by refreshments at The American Legion Post on Taylor St., Saugus.
