Patrick Paul Charette

Mr. and Mrs. Patrick and Theresa Charette of Dummer, NH passed away after spending time at St. Vincent De Paul Nursing Home in Berlin, NH.

Patrick P. Charette, 91, was born in Ashland, Maine on Oct. 9, 1932, son of Samuel and Lena (Damboise) Charette, and Theresa I. (Desilets) Charette was born in Berlin, NH on Aug. 19, 1935, daughter of Albert (Gus) and Irma (Demers)Desilets.

After growing up in Ashland, Maine, Patrick enlisted in the Army during the Korean war. After the war, in coming back home in 1953, found himself in Berlin where his family relocated and Patrick got introduced to Theresa (Toot’s) by one of his sisters. At first, Theresa felt he was a little fast for her, but he grew on her and by 1958 they married. Then moving to Connecticut creating a life and family for over 20 yrs., they became proud members of the Knights of Columbus. Patrick worked construction before getting into long haul trucking which is what he did until he retired; he then worked at Walmart for a bit. Theresa was a homemaker and while raising 3 kids operated a Daycare from home.

They loved dancing, going to the movies, and spending time with their family, especially at Hampton Beach where they spent their honeymoon. Before moving back to the Berlin area, they found themselves in Dummer back in 1980 only to continue living the life they loved and watching their family grow. They were loved by everyone they met and touched. They will be missed greatly.

They are survived by Theresa’s sister, Rita Gagetta of Pleasanton, California, their son, to whom they were loving parents, Lucien Charette of Dummer, NH; daughters, Cecile Charette and her wife, Kelly Timblin of Berlin, NH, and Michelle Charette and her partner, Jared, and son, Braden Masters of Berlin, NH. They are also survived by their grandchildren, Chris Garneau, and Justin Ayotte of Berlin, NH, Mathew Villeneuve of Lyndonville, VT, Craig and his wife, Alicia, and great granddaughter, Margo Rae Villeneuve of Berlin, NH.
